Independent travel guidance for Nigeria

Access for everyone

Accessibility

Our commitment to a readable, navigable, and inclusive travel publication.

Radio Waumini wants its Nigeria travel information to be usable by as many people as possible, including readers who use keyboards, screen readers, magnification, voice control, captions, or other assistive technologies.

Our goal

We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a practical design and publishing target. This is a goal, not a claim that every page or third-party service already conforms in every respect.

Our accessibility work includes efforts to provide:

  • semantic headings and meaningful page structure;
  • keyboard-accessible navigation and controls;
  • visible focus indicators;
  • sufficient color contrast;
  • descriptive link text;
  • text alternatives for informative images;
  • captions or transcripts for meaningful audio and video where used;
  • responsive layouts that support zoom and text resizing;
  • labels, instructions, and error messages for forms;
  • reduced-motion support where animation is not essential.

Editorial accessibility

Accessible travel publishing is more than interface code. We aim to use plain language, explain unfamiliar abbreviations, identify currencies, avoid relying on color alone, and format comparison tables so their meaning can be understood with assistive technology.

Property and destination accessibility claims require care. We distinguish between an official published claim and a feature we have independently verified. At launch, most coverage is desk-researched, and we generally have not performed on-site accessibility inspections. Readers should confirm measurements, routes, equipment, policies, and assistance directly with the provider before booking.

Third-party content and services

Radio Waumini may link to or embed maps, booking tools, advertisements, videos, social content, or other third-party services. We do not control every aspect of those services, but we consider accessibility when selecting and configuring them and encourage readers to report barriers.

Launch-stage limitations

Radio Waumini is a launch-stage publication. Some legacy, experimental, or third-party material may not yet meet our target. We are working to make reusable components and publishing practices accessible from the start and to address problems as they are identified.

Report an accessibility barrier

Use our [Contact page](contact.md) and include:

  • the URL or feature involved;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • the barrier or unexpected behavior;
  • your browser, device, and assistive technology, if you are comfortable sharing them;
  • an alternative format or accommodation that would help.

Do not include medical records or other sensitive health information. We will review accessibility feedback in good faith, though we cannot promise a specific resolution or response time.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. We expect standards, tools, and the site itself to evolve, and we will update this statement when our approach materially changes.
